Windows desktop widget

Sticky Widget

Your Google Tasks lists, as sticky notes on your desktop. Open one note per list, put them where you want them, and tick things off without opening a browser. Everything you change is your real Google Tasks data, synced both ways with your phone and the web app.

Download for Windows Source code

Free and open source. Windows 10 and 11. The installer is not code signed, so Windows shows an “unrecognised app” warning the first time — choose More info, then Run anyway.

What it does

What it asks for

Signing in asks Google for one permission — see, edit, create and delete your tasks — because that is what a task widget does. It asks for nothing else: not your email address, not your contacts, not your files.

Your tasks are stored on your own computer and exchanged only with Google. Nothing is sent to any other server, and no analytics are collected. The privacy policy says so in full.

Installing

  1. Download the latest release and run the .exe installer.
  2. Open Sticky Widget and click Connect.
  3. Sign in with Google in the browser window that opens, and allow access to your tasks.
  4. Your lists appear. Drag the note where you want it.

New versions install themselves: the app tells you when one is out and updates when you say so.
